Let's say my purpose would be to learn to recognise verbal, non-verbal and numerical patterns quickly and to get a higher score on a psychometric/IQ test.

Would photoreading be an appropriate approach here?

What would I do during activation?

why do you want to do that? ... That's a purpose.

PhotoReading can probably help you achieve your goal and purpose if it isn't make believe, like the expression "let's say"

Do you already do psychometric/IQ test?

If you don't how would you know you get a higher or lower score? The photoreading step alone won't make you a genius or give you the answer. You wouldn't know what your "answer" signals are - that would come from the activation stage.

Activation for me would be doing practice tests, noticing your feelings and gut reactions for correct and incorrect answers.

You would need to PR test books, and if they exist answer or "pattern" books.

What's important about recognising verbal, non-verbal and numerical patterns?

Then what's important about the answer you just gave?

Then ultimately what would that do for you?

I think that would help you redefine your purpose.

Like the other posters stated, you definitely need to have a solid purpose.

Also, you'll want to get your hands on as many IQ tests with test answers as possible. Bergman IQ test is good as well as Miller Analogies and Standford Binet IQ tests. Google can give you a ton of IQ tests that you can download from various sites for free.

I am currently going to take the Mensa IQ test sometime this year, so I have been photoreading a bunch of pdf's of IQ tests over and over. The more you photoread and active the more comfortable and familiar the information will be.

Plus, with repeated photoreading of the IQ tests, you train your brain to think in that IQ test pattern that all IQ tests tend to have. So it will make it easier for you. Goodluck.
