Hi All,
Great topic and all of you made some good suggestions in order to find one’s life purpose.
I was thinking more about what prevents one from finding one’s life purpose? From my experience and what I noticed around me is the following.
1) From an early age most of us are constantly encouraged to fulfil someone
else’s expectation. So we are trying to please our mom in order to get her
approval. Later then the teacher, mate, friends, boss and who else’s.
This means we think what kind of behaviour will make for instance my mom happy rather then to do what makes us happy. So the game goes on.
2) Later we select a profession because it’s “in” and has a high prestige value
rather then to select a profession we like. This even often applies to the
selection of a partner.
Of course the media encourages such an attitude to do what is “cool”
rather then what may not be “cool” but what we like.
Note: I wonder who set’s the standard of what is cool and not?
Perhaps some in the background pushes the bottom an we jerk.
The way out of it is was some of you already recommended. I would also add
meditation and concentration to it.
Cheers,
