Thanks for the advice.
I'm not trying to be fanatic about it. I'm just planning to get a nice solid chair and have some color options. Also, neutrals are associated with elements too.
In addition, this was something of a theory question. If I can get a grip on the underlying theory, then I can make better decisions. Since the walls and ceilings are all white, I have quite a bit of my fortune element around anyway. It's handy to be metal when you live in a rental.
