If you're not able to answer questions in an exam I'm not surprised because you're not really clear on what you want to know. An abstract idea what a book is about... you get from previewing. And if that's all you want, you're done.
Do you really expect to ace a test with an abstract idea of a subject when others study to a level of expertise?
If you expect to know more. Then get real and quit using fancy words and look for what you really want and need to know from the book.
I need to pass an exam on subject X, What do I need to know to pass that exam... [that's what course descriptions are for. They tell you what you expect to learn]
So getting real. I need and desire to manage my finances better. What do I need to know to manage my finances better? I don't know?
Well therein lies the first purpose. To learn what I need to know about managing finance so that I can start learning what to do.
