Want or the sense of wanting, means to lack.
I'm going to assume in your own language the meaning might be different.
I suggest expressing it as a need. If you can say..
So that I can write a paper that shares some ideas from this book, or so that I can write a paper that will satisfy my teacher, boss, readers.
So I can write a paper is only part of the purpose. The real purpose is what you achieve after you wrote the paper.
