You might notice the surface you're resting one...or you might notice a surface resting on you.
If it distracts you then yes, it distracts you.
If you are normally okay with the cat why not just be okay with it while listening to a Paraliminal. It is just a matter of choice. A part of you is always focused on outside to keep you safe. If you have pets a part of you needs to be aware of what they are up to while you have your eyes close. When the cat gets in you lap you might notice their alpha purrrr. It can be very relaxing so you could take advantage of their company if they are peacefully there, In a sense they become your security system while you have your eyes closed.If the become alarmed and move off your lap you have an earlier warning tha if you relied on your senses to reach further out.
Naturally if they are patting your nose, constantly swaping which one gets the privvy of your lap while you're listening to Paraliminals it would make more sense to move yourself behind a closed door where they won't disturb you for 20 to 25 minutes.
