Defcon83,
I remember from somewhere that when we are anxious our mind is indicating we need to make a change.
List on paper all the negatives in your life, and make plans to decrease them.
List all the positives you want to increase and make plans to increase them too.
Sometimes, if you have "generalized anxiety", an anxiety illness, I reckon it is because you need to make a lot of changes in your life. Go step by step making very small changes, don't go for big changes as that could cause anxiety in itself.
One little trick that helped me...ask a qualified hypnotherapist, take note, a qualified one, not an unqualified one. Ask them to install a relaxation process hypnotically, with the aim that no matter what, you have always got the resource to relax in whatever situation. It is a very powerful resource, and I can heartily recommend it. Ask them to prepare a script, it must NOT be one created ad hoc. Many hypnotherapists can mess up with unprepared scripts. But if they do it well this hypnotic installation can help immensely.
