I am starting to read a little about Astral Projection and Out of Body Experiences. I don't know much about the topic, and have never had any experiences.

Would any of the paraliminals be good for exploring this? Maybe triggering an experience?

Thanks.

You should visit the Monroe Institute at www.monroeinstitute.org

Hi folks; this is Maverick here. I felt a need to comment on the issue of astral projection. Assuming that this practice is indeed real (and it could very well be) I would be EXTREMELY careful if anyone opts to pursue this practice. From what I understand, your soul could encounter who knows what out there, and it could be very, very dangerous.

Personally, it is a practice that I myself am not willing to experiment with.

Please do take care,

Maverick

Butterflies are beautiful in their physical form, no astral projection is needed to impress.

hi Blue_Butterfly
I had an experience some 23 years ago, when I was hit by a car. It was a life changing event, one that at first confused me. During the period of confusion, I tried reading things, including Monroe, and much of it did not fit for me. Also, it was an experience I did not wish to recreate.

Most people who spoke of it seemed to me to not have been transformed by the experience in the way I was, in ways I expected others would be if they had experienced it.

I doubted most of what I heard, and stopped talking about it among others, because most did not believe it happened to me, and some wanted desperately to believe it could happen, and among them, very few convinced me that they truly experienced it themselves.

It was a blesssing, after all, and transformational. It ratified my sense of spirituality and deepened my choice of paths. If it spontaneously happens again, I will look for the gift or lesson in it, but it is not something I think I need to seek out. I have no regrets, and no desires for it either, as it served its purpose in my life.

If it is something you feel you need, I wish you the best, and a safe journey far from those who might decieve you.

I am reminded of a story of a man who was thirsty, swimming in the lake....

With love

Grant, I like what you wrote.
That, too, shows beauty.

Thanks vita-man,

You also show your beauty in your many contributions.

I'm just interested in your thirsty man swimming in the lake, do you mean we have abundant resources already, more than enough to get on with, without depending on something like astral projection?

HI Grant
I love koans, metaphores, symbolism and parables. It is one way the consious and other-than-consious minds can communicate. One nice thing about them is that the listener/thinker can get from them the most apporopriate meaning for them at that time.

With that in mind, the question you asked me is a question you can pose to your own subconsious mind...

When I was writing to Blue Butterfly, the story came to my mind- my subconsious was trying to communicate with me, to communicate with her subconsious mind, so her subconsious mind could in turn communicate with her. Her meaning, is between her subconsious and consious, unique to her.

If she wishes to share it, it will be nice- but it may be deeply personal...

The story for me, at this time, speaks of gratitude for the wonderful things I have in life- there is much peace and happiness in gratitude and aknowledgement of what is. Wanting more can sometimes lead to suffering for me, as wanting impies lacking- especialy in my spiritual life.

But that is me...

Wow Vita-man, wow wow wow!

You have just opened my eyes to a whole bunch of things.

Thank you!

I had no idea that metaphors had a personal meaning for everybody. Teachers at school always taught me in poetry lessons that their interpretation was the correct one. Oh boy! I'm a little bit angry with them! If anybody is wrong it's the teachers!! What I want to say I can't say on this forum!!!

You do have a tendency to open my eyes Vita-man. Welldone!

Thanks again!
