I second Theone's comments. I'm older than dirt, as they say (
), so when I was starting school, no one ever talked about "dyslexia," let alone treated it, so I had to work very hard to learn to read. Ever since, I've treasured the ability and celebrate it with a good book as often as possible.
Which makes me wonder--is it really that you don't like to read, or could it be that you simply haven't found a book that holds your interest? I confess to setting many a book aside that didn't appeal to me, even though nearly all my friends insisted these books were excellent. In general, I prefer nonfiction, and a lot of fiction (not all!) seems dull in comparison. AND I know others will say nonfiction is dull, and they can't get enough fiction.
