Ive recently...well today actually, had a little dissapointing news relating to buying a house after various ups and downs and one thing and another.

Im not sure if its just because of the mindset Ive been in today but Ive been struggling to maintain a positive frame of mind and finding it difficult to focus when Im usually quite positive.

Please can anybody offer any advice on what would be the best Paraliminal/s to use for this and maybe to help with any feelings of dissapointment in general?

Also, another question I have is which would be the best Paraliminal to aid getting a restful/rejuvenating nights sleep? Would Deep Relaxation be the best choice for this? Ive tried Prosperity a couple of times and focused my goal on having an abundance of sleep to give me more energy when I wake up. It does seem to get me to sleep easier but Im still tired the day after and I do find it difficult to get out of bed.

Ive always been a big dreamer during the night and I think this does affect the quality of my sleep. I read somewhere that this can be caused by too many Alpha waves impeding on and interrupting the Delta period of sleep? Could anyone shed any light on this idea? Im also thinking about purchasing a CD called The Delta Sleep System by a Dr Jefferey Thompson, but havent heard many testimonials about the product.
I think that it uses similar tones etc and frequencies to that which Holosync use? It also has soothing music and sounds of nature.
Has anyone heard of this particular CD, or that these actually work?
I know Im not an insomniac by a long stretch but I definately think that I should be getting a better nights sleep than I am doing, and also generally feeling more refreshed the day after. I might add thats its not a recent thing so it doesnt tie in with my first query in this post.

On a positive note (bit of a contradiction there! Lol) I have found these Paraliminal sessions to be of great use and in my eyes they have helped me in several areas of my life. My favourite paraliminals are Self Esteem Supercharger, Sales Leap and Personal Genius. I have been using these mainly to bring a little extra confidence into my life and I must say that I have definately experienced/felt a more outward/confident mindset in day to day life. When I first started listening to them, oh maybe a month ago now, I did feel a little more anxious than I usually am at times when interacting or in situations, but after a while this anxiety seemed to fade away. It must have just been my brain getting used to the new information that it was receiving from the paraliminals.
When listening to the Personal Genius sessions before driving to work, I feel more responsive and my driving ability seems sharper! Just something ive noticed!

Anyway, I look forward to any advice or suggestions that could be passed my way.

Thanks in advance,
Simon

Hi SiMar
I have the Delta Sleep System, it works, and it is great...IF you can keep headphones on for a double CD set...also, you might need a disc changer. I finaly encoded them to MP3 at the highest quality 320 bits I could, then put disc 1, then 2 then 1 then 2 on a cd. It would be a perfect solution if I stayed on my back all night. When I turn to my side, I take the headphones off.

I contacted his company, asked if it would work without headphones, and they said just give it a try...it did not work, and my wife did not like the sound at night.

That being said, I have alot of Dr Jefferey Thompsons stuff, and Anna Wise too, and I am a big fan of both. It is great for a 30 or 60 minute trance, or to fall asleep.

Keep in mind that my sleep disorder is caused by Severe OSA, so your experience might be very different.

HIs CDs, including the Delta Sleep System, are very different than Centrepoints products.

Re paraliminals for your fist paragraph, the thing that came to mind is both side a and b (separately) of New HIstory Generator. A to unhook any past stuff that might be involved, and B to inventory what happened that helped or hindered, and what was or was not within control, then let it go.

Better outcoomes await.

Hi again Vitaman,

Thanks for getting back with the advice again, its apreciated. I think I will now go ahead a purchase the Delta Sleep system and do a search for any of Anna Wise's stuff. Ive got an iPod with some good small headphones that dont hurt my ears much when I turn on the side, so hopefully I should be able to stand it for length of the series?! Fingers crossed there!

I gave Deep Relaxation a try last night also and it did make me fall asleep, its a pity i was woken up though when my girlfriend got in from work! It then took me a while to get back to sleep again. Though If it happens again I will probably repeat my listen and see if it works the 2nd time over.

New History Generator is one of the paraliminals that I havent listened to but i will give that a try also on your advice to see if it helps.

I hope that you dont mind me asking but what is OSA? Do you find that the paraliminals etc help with it?
Also I noticed on abother post that you like to take vitamins, hence the name! I know that they are not vitamins as such but personally I like to take an Omega 3 supplement and Gingko. I found that they helped with my memory after a while when i first started to take them.

Cheers

Hi Simon
OSA is Obstructive Sleep Apnea. That is when a person stops breathing while asleep. It is not behavioral, is it mechanical, neurological, or in my case, both. When I fall asleep, the muscles relax to a point that my air passages close. After a while I waske up enouph to I fight for life, gasp for breath, and drowse back down again. It repeats over and over, about 30 times per hour.

Unfortunately, the use of paraliminals is limited for that. I used them to get used to sleeping with the CPAP machine and mask strrapped to my face, though.

RE the vitamins- yeah, I have been into alternative health and supplements since I first found a "Whole Earth Catalogue" on a bus in 1973. Made it my business for many years, but the retail natural health industry changed and became mainstream consumerist and politicaly different than the values I want to live. Still deal in some import/export, and still keep up witht he research, but my true calling is counseling.

If you can safely take relaxants, (I cant with my condition) and if it is only occasionaly you might try Valerian Root (Smells like a high school jocks locker, though) but is works for many people. Kava is good, too, if it is legal where you live.

Let us know how the Delta Sleep System works for you!

For dealing with disappointments I recommend Anxiety-Free and Self-Esteem Supercharger.

After a few days use Automatic Pilot to get going again on the goal where you've experienced disappointment.

Thanks for the suggestions Vitaman and Alex.
I actually used to take Valerian and Kava quite a few years ago though at the time I dont think I had much improvement with Valerian and sleeping, Kava yes but I think If I remember correctly its illegal now where I live (England). Typical! Not sure why though if it is? Im sure its readily available over the internet.

I will keep you posted of my outcomes with the paraliminals and the Delta Sleep System when that arrives though when I listened to New History and Self Esteem at the weekend I immediately felt happier afterwards, and I think less receptive to dissapointment and the negativiy that was attributed to it. Onwards and upwards!

All the best for now
Simon

Hi,

Many times we hear people saying that I had xyz symptom, I took so and so remedy and it went away....

Now, every individual is unique and just because they had success with a certain symptom with a certain remedy doesn't mean that that remedy will help others for the same symptom as well.

There are many remedies that cover the symptoms of anxiety, sadness, depression etc., but there is a whole lot going on with the individuals other than that particular symptom. In fact, for a remedy to properly heal, one should match the complete symptom complex (mental, emotional, physical) of the remedy to that of the patient. This is what a knowledgeable health care professional does (especially a homeopath or a naturopath).

Self medicating (yes, even with seeming harmless herbal remedies) can sometimes knock a symptom out, but leave the whole organism still unhealthy.

Thanks,
AeB

Hi, although I have been a member of LS for over four years now and have most of their cd’s and programs, I have always sat on the fence and this is the first time I have participated in this forum. First I want to express my admiration and gratitude for all the absolutely wonderful people who participate so openly and honestly with the intention of helping disseminate information that most of us are seeking. I would just like to mention that I had to do something about listening through the sleeping hours with headphones in order to benefit from the subliminals. I found some thin headphones and bought a thick homemade knitted balaclava type head cover without the opening for the eyes. When I go to bed I place the headphones on and then pull on the knitted cover so that the phones are secured snugly. I find that I sleep quite comfortably and even when I turn in my sleep the headphones remain in position. My wife does not hear anything and is not bothered at all.
I set my player to repeat all so that I have the whatever I wish to listen to repeated right throughout my sleep. After a while I got so used to the listening that I look forward to having something to listen to every time I go to bed.
