When MD says the water dragon must flow from left to right, are we standing looking away from our house or facing our house?

I've just reread the section regarding the water dragon because I was also wondering which direction is right - well, in the manual it is said that it's the direction the house faces. I thought of determining it according to the direction my front door faces my house is L-shaped and therefore it does not really have a "face" - therefore I will use the direction the entrance door faces ... if I'm wrong I hope Shawn or Debra will stop me
