Isn't that when you are able to see spirits and non-physical entities?

Yes, that can be some thing you can see with the third eye. You direct it. There is much more to the third eye than seeing spirits. You need to train for that. The aura seeing course focuses on aura of the physical.

In the mailout Paul mentions about Marie Diamond seeing energy in home and workplaces - is this something different altogether?

Physical includes animals and plants as well.

Marie was born with the skill. It may be something different I can't pop into her head to see for myself. Some people are attuned to energy with other senses not necessarily seeing it. The aura course could help you develop the skill of seeing energy of objects. The potential is there. It's much easier to see energy that from the physical that we term alive.
