Could this help me with drumset coordiantion. I can play good but I want to individualize each limb into seperate rythms.

Any advice where I can obtain a good tape?

Yeah it could, it helped me with hand-drumming. The best Tomatis tapes are SAMONAS from toolsforwellness.com, they are the most effective if you use high quality stereo equipment and Sennheiser headphones. I actually got an amazing amount of benefit from this product given that an individual CD only costs around $18.

Cool, a fellow drummer. I apprectiate the reference. I heard that the Silent Stim Tape from Centrepoint was supposed to be really good but I don't know how it compares to the Toolsforwellness ones. Have you or anyone else used both products?

Yeah, I've used both and the SAMONAS is higher quality. It is also easier to listen to repeatedly because the tracks contain audiophile-quality classical music, as opposed to the endless sound of a rushing stream.
Keep in mind, though, that the quality difference will only become apparent if you are using quality (at least $50) headphones and a reasonably good stereo. If you listen on cheap equipment, the quality will be effectively the same.

I'm shocked! I just went to ToolsforWellness.com and those CD's are 50 to 60 dollars a piece! How did you get yours for 18?

There was a clearance about 18 months ago, where they offered the Cadaques Night CD and a couple others for 17.99; I see they have resumed the old price since then...sorry for getting your hopes up. I would check ebay if you are committed to getting the price I mentioned. Excellent product though, definitely worth it IMO even at $60, if you already have a high-end stereo.

Good luck,

Garic

ShaneXEdge,

Don't rely on a tape to develop 4-way coordination on a drum set.

I found it easier to teach myself to play a different time signature on each limb simultaneously. You can start with two limbs, then three limbs, and finally four limbs.

The combinations of using 4/4, 3/4, 5/4, 7/4, 9/4, 11/4, etc., on each of the 4 limbs is endless. I would suggest using a metronome at 60 bpm for starters.

You'll not only improve your drumming skills, you'll gain whole brain integration, coordination, and open focus concentration that yield benefits in other areas of life!
