Hi everyone, I've been visiting this board for over a year now and this is my first time posting. This forum has been extremely helpful and I always enjoy my visit here!
Anyway, I was listening to Personal Genius tonight and I noticed that I could hear a ever so slight background voice in the introduction. I really couldn't make out what was being said though. Anyone else hear this? Pete?...is there suppose to be background voice?....or is it just my imagination?

You may have listened to one too many tapes, my friend... sigh.

:( :( :( :( :(

I played that part repeatly a few times again. It's too faint to hear it clearly, but I do hear something. You have to pay close attention and listen closely in between the sentences. And I know its not my imagination. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks

I hear the same thing, I'm sure it's just background chatter that was never intended to be recorded, but it is indeed interesting.

I didn't try it out, but one suggestion:
Sometimes a layer from a tape imprints itself on another layer. I had this effect with some self-recorded music tapes. This way there seems to be an echo on the tape. Could it be this?

Can we please have an official answer to this question?

Well, I've heard this one several tapes from LS and I've noticed that they are the same words being spoken (loudly) it's just said before the actual words. As someone pointed out, like an imprint.

It's as if the tracking is off on the tape. It's very annoying to me.

Can we have a response from a LS rep.?

Clark,

I have had this experience with other selp-improvement tapes, it seems to be a layering phenomenon like another poster indicated. It doesn't detract from the effectiveness and actually any time suggestions or instructions can be offered at a low yet audible volume they can impact the subconscious (or as said here, the other than conscious) mind.

Chris, you mentioned that it affects the subconscious...if the were the case, then wouldn't it coinside with being subliminal, something that shouldn't be an attribute of paraliminal?

Maybe, maybe not, but I do know this that any beneficial input made available to the subconscious mind is just that, beneficial input for the subconscious.

If it is the same material as that presented to the subconscious/conscious during the session then it can't be anything but helpful.

Keep in mind that the goal of the paraliminals (and hypnosis as well) is to disingage the conscious mind and engage the inner mind. If positive ideas via this effect we are speaking of allows ideas to slip into consciousness while in an altered state of consciousness think of it as near subliminal reinforcement of the paraliminal process.

Thanks Chris, your reply was very informative. Though, I'm curious as to why L.S. Corp. has yet to include any input on this matter.
Any thoughts and ideas are appreciated. This concern, although minor, is just something I'd like to get off my chest.

Hello. There are no background voices on our tapes other than those that are clearly audible. If you are hearing voices, it could be a radio station that your player is picking up, bleed through from the other side of the tape, or your imagination.

People have sent us tapes that they said had background voices, but we were never able to find anything.

Thank you for your response. I do not think that stray radio station signals is the cause of this, for although faint, the background sounds do sound the same upon replayback. Since others have claimed to hear this, there is some incentive to look into this matter a little further. Maybe the reason that you did not hear it on the returned tapes was because the volume was too low?
