Has anybody tried the program at this site?
http://www.breathing.com/video-manual-1-2.htm

I have always had very shallow breathing and I haven't had much success at improving it. I am considering buying the program, but I just wanted to know if anyone can tell me how effective it really is.

I am mainly interested in the connection between breathing and personal magnetism. Can anybody tell me how much of an effect one has on the other?

There's a book by Paul Therott available somewhere online ... I do not have a link, sorry ... and in the book he goes one extensively about the power of personal magnetism and breathing. According to him, they are intimately linked.

Have you heard of the Buteyko system of breathing? Check it out because shallow breathing is not necessarily a bad thing. What is important is levels of Carbon Dioxide because these need to be high in order for your blood chemistry to be right. If they are not paradoxically your body gets too little oxygen from your bloodstream.

Deep breathing can sometimes be overbreathing. If you ever feel spacey deep breathing you are in fact starving yourself of oxygen by breathing too much.

I went on a Buteyko course and it really helped me, reducing my anxiety levels considerably

Hope this is of some use.

Katey

I found this using a Google search:

It's a very interesting e-book written by Theron Dumont back in 1913.

That's it! That's the book. Don't know why I thought the author was Paul Therott.

Theron Dumott. Have to remember that. Sorry for being misleading.
