I don't know much about the PhotoReading program, but what I've read makes me wonder if it could be used for music reading. If you already know the basic "language" of written music, might the PhotoReading techniques be applicable?

It seems like it might be pretty cool, because one of the things about learning a piece while sightreading it is that the right/left brain conflicts in music playing are very active (at least for me). If a musician had PhotoRead a piece, then the playing and practice could quickly adapt to the musician's unique creative flow with the original written piece. It would eliminate that rather clumsy stage of eye to paper to brain to creative spirit to hand. You'd already have the piece in your head. At that point, it is very easy to integrate creative spirit, brain, and hand/body.

I kind of thought many musicians have already been using it, mayhap as an 'unnamed' technique or skill?

Although I am a "trained" musician (attended Berklee College of Music for film scoring and piano--although I seldom write or play these days. Just someone who loves it, ask "amateur"), and still a beginning PhotoReader, I would say the answer is yes. From what I know about the sets of skills involved with both, it feels very much like PR would help with: sight reading, performance practice, composition, etc.

Yes absolutely. Chanced to read a wonderful testimonial today where the PhotoReader PhotoReads the new music the day before and plays it the next day, often flawlessly.
