If PhotoReaders read as fast as 800,000 wpm why is it that The Guiness Book of World Records list the worlds fastest reader as being someone that only reads at something like 30,000 wpm? Thank you very much in advance.

Perhaps because photoreading isn't reading as we know it. Therefore the Guinus book doesn't recognize it -----just a thought

Isn't Howard Berg still registerd as the fastest reader??

what if Howard Berg (or whoever the record holder is) learned to PhR?

Well at that speed, wouldn't they be doing some sort of photoreading?

I've heard many stories about Berg's record, and I do not know the truth.

It is not a category they list any more.

Nonetheless, PhotoReading is different from regular reading.

Is PhotoReading reading? Depends on your definition. I like what is in the Merriam-Webster dictionary on my computer:

"to learn from what one has seen or found in writing or printing"

I was wondering about that reading record. I tried to look it up on their website because I had heard from a course by the reading genius guy that the former record was 75 pages/min which is just over 30,000 wpm. I e-mailed them, asking about the record, but the guy who responded said they didn't currently have a record for it, and he didn't know anything about it.
