I am planning to take photoreading course or self-study.
Which one is better for a newbie to start?
Does bilogical age (50-60) has any positive or negative effect on photoreading training?
Any pre-requisite preparation (study, tapes..) before photoreading starting?

no, age does not have negative effect. as long as you have fun in learning PR and treat it like a game, you will succeed in learning it. The only "negative effect" is to try to Learn it in a way that stresses you out instead of treating it like a game.
I would go with the Photo Reading Course
1. Its Cheaper: $245: 750 for seminar
2. You can do it at your leisure
3. You can repeat it anytime.

Have Fun and Much Success.

I did the home study course first. Went through it many times. Then took the seminar to make sure I was doing the process correctly and see if I could pick up additional tips.

Age certainly has nothing to do with this. As stated, have fun. If you're willing to learn, age has no limits!
