How do you use it?

It's quite interesting you give it the photofocus gaze the blue vertical (represents the crease of the book) line creates the blip borders. The horizontal line gives you your mid point for the gaze. The 7 in the middle overlaps to a single digit and the rest of the numbers in the "blip area" form an X.

I'm interested to know how many people find this helpful in getting into photofocus.

You won't get an X effect like that you photofocus on the text of a printed page or computer screen with text in two columns. The text is parallel to begin and will remain parallel when you are looking at a page properly.

Think railway tracks. They appear to converge because of the angle you are looking at them.

Interesting about this image is that I can see the 7's converging into one with perfect focus just like that of a "magic eye" hidden 3d image, the "jump out at you " effect. Is it therefore necessary to blur the image when you have maintained this state since you can conciously recognised the numbers just like you would words?

While the text in the middle is probably clear the rest is often blurred. If it lifts off the screen for you good for you. It's not necessary for successful PhotoReading.
