I was wondering, once you learn how to PR, do you still read normally once in a while or do you apply your skills to everything you read?
Does knowing how to Photo read make normal reading obsolete?

What really is "normal" reading.

If you mean do we still sit back on a deckchair out in the garden with a good novel letting it take as long as we want to read it. Yup I still do that. Difference is I do it faster. Instead of taking a week to finish a novel in 3-4 hour blocks here and there. I finish it in one 3-4 hour block (and boy is that leisurely reading).

Our overall reading speed does increase so instead of reading at 190 words a minute we read between 300 and 600 wpm. And yes I still PhotoRead the book. I like the fact I don't miss the details like I did at 240wpm.

In all you don't lose a still you gain more.

I am half way through the home study course. if i want to curl up with a book this afternoon, will "traditional" reading mess with my progress of PR?

I don't see why it should. It's your purpose so go ahead and curl up with a good book.
