For reading regular novels what are the steps involved? Photo reading and then rapid reading? I tried that once and I found myself reading at the same slow pace that I always read opposed to reading at rapid speeds.

PhotoRead then rapid read. Take regular breaks because the longer you do it without a break the slower you get.

You might also consider doing some more non-fiction book using the whole system and other step of Superreading and dipping and skittering. If you don't develop those techniques they are not available to you when you rapid read. So find opportunities to use these other techniques and you're rapid reading will become faster than traditional reading, with rhythmic perusal.
