Hello I am studying from the book to learn to photoread. But I have a question
When you Prepare, you read? or you begin when you make the preview?

Greetings

In the beginnings it is useful to follow the steps set forth in the system. Prepare, Preview, PR, ...Once you get going and begin to feel more confident in your abilities, Mix it Up! Experiment! See what works for you. See if you can come up with your own personal system that flows for you, and helps you understand and apply the techniques and thoughts Paul has sprinkled throughout the book. Have fun!

Hi el_gato_conbotas

To answer your question, when you are on the prepare step, you don't read at all. In fact the reading material, say a book, is closed and in front of you. Prepare means preparing yourself. In simple words when you prepare you are entering the Flow State. The steps which you need to perform while preparing are given in the PhotoReading book.

Its only when you are in the preview step that you start reading the material and this does not imply that you read the material from cover to cover. You just read some specific portions, once again mentioned in the PhotoReading book, to have an overview of the book and understand the structure of the book.

I hope I have been of some help to you.

God bless you.

Kind regards

You're entering the ideal state for reading not the flow state. The flow state is much more complex. Your tangerine is the trigger for that. The prepare step is also where you decide what your purpose is.

Even during previewing you don't actually read, you notice and write down trigger words.
