I have had good results with typing my IS images. Anybody else do this? Can you think of any reasons why it won't work as well as vocalizing?

It's slower. You can talk faster than you type so you might miss a lot. Ideally you should be doing your review by talking out loud into a recorder. That way you'll decode your images better.

Hey Rocklad,

I've actually tried typing instead of talking, when I didn't have anything but a computer in front of me. Since my keyboard is soft, it didn't really disrupt me at all.

I found that it was smoother, and I was able to decode better. It also was better, because when I would talk, I would find myself stopping periodically for no apparent reason, and I couldn't get the words out.

Anyone else have any experiences with typing?

As long as you then use the method of talking it out to debrief. Either way is good.

I haven't received GC yet, but this thread raises a question. When I talk out loud, the noise sometimes gets in the way of my thoughts. Wouldn't typing be better for me? And since I type over 150 words per minute, would that be close enough to speech speed?

Try it the way instructed in the course and see. Part of the learning experience is to get around the noise and talking out loud is an important part of the process.

I find talking more powerful than typing. It may be that there is also sound transmission I'm not sure, but it just has a far more powerful effect on me.
