I think I got the breathing technique, even though it seems counter intuitive -- shouldn't the belly / lungs expand, when air comes in?

Especially in the beginning I felt I had to gasp for air at times and even now I can't go as slow as I'd like to, because I feel I'm not using my lungs to their full capacity. Previously I thought that since the most blood veins are in the bottom of the lungs, you should let your abdomen expand when breathing in.

Any words of wisdom on this?

Hi Sakke

Maybe you are trying to push'pull the belly a little to hard.
On the inhale pull in gently, just a little,on the exhale
out just a little. Do not force it.

Also try breathing in and out through your skin,if you
don't do that already, may help.

Maybe not the words of wisdom you were looking for, but maybe
it will help.

Have a wonderful day

Gabby

Aloha Sakke,

Your abdomin and chest both naturally during this breathign techinque as well.

Look at what he shows in the Level One video -you're just bringing in the area below your navel a bit. The rest expands.

Much Love, Shawn

Sorry for reviving a dead post, but I have a question that may be relevant to this thread. Are practicioners encouraged to use this breathing technique at all times (ie. walking meditation, etc.)? Thank you very much in advanced.
