You imagine and try to feel a tangerine sitting on the top back part of your head. You should always feel it resting there. The best way to get the feeling of it resting there is to believe it. Some people find it easier to use their fingers to push the back of the top back part of their head and believe their finger is still touching throughout the photoreading process. The tangerine is just a metaphor used to help you remember.

When I first started learning the tangerine technique, I once experimented with an alternate method. Instead of a tangerine, I imagined a candle flame burning out of that same spot on my head. I remember it got really tingly and got stronger and stronger.

It was interesting, and other than that, I don't know how to describe it. just AWESOME, it was.

The last time I did that, my head felt like it was on fire

I personally like the photofocus eye-diverging-thing better.

It's more engaging (and FUN) for my conscious mind.

If I lose my tangerine feeling, I just tap my head in between flips to get it back.
