For my bedroom; you go into it, and by looking to the right, that wall (the door is on the same wall) face east, having the picture of Lin.
The house is made like this, not so far away from being in exact symmetry to actual East, North, West and South.

This is how I understand it. My relationship direction is SW, I believe I can put a picture of a girl or something in the SW corner of my room then.

I think it`s as easy as this, if not I`ll learn more on disc 3 and further

Thats okay, you just missinterpreted.

I (and Marie)did not say to activate your personal best directions in each room.

You just do them once - ideally in your bedroom, second choice would be the living room, and if you couldn't place it in any of them, then pace them in that direction of the house.
