My colleague at work read a book on feng shui, didn't say who the author was but she said that you shouldn't have your bed underneath a window, even with a head board. Is this true? I asked because I have to move my son's bed slightly to have it facing sw, and it would come under the window...now when I was growing up, my sister had her bed under the window and I was against the wall. She never was sick. I was always sick.

Ideally you don't want you bed under a window. If it can't be avoided a headboard or keeping the window covered when sleeping is the cure. The window covering should be heavy drapes or blinds. I think thats what Marie says. Keep in mind different systems are going to vary slightly.
As for when you were growing up, there's alot more than just the bed under the window. There are so many factors that it would be hard to single out one thing and say it was the cause.
