what is activation exactly? do you basically have to actually re-read the text even after photoreading it? doesn't that generally defeat the purpose of photoreading?

any comments will be appreciated \:\)

You could 'research' this forum.

Much useful information on 'activation' is here in these threads, posted by those who professionally teach it.

Activation is simply the process of becoming consciously aware of whatever it was you PhotoRead. You PR to get information into your head and you activate to kind of shift that information from your subconscious to your conscious.

Sometimes you will read the book almost as if at normal speed. Does this defeat the purpose behind the whole PR process? No. If you are reading at normal speed, even after doing a PR session with the material, you will find that you can understand the material faster and more thoroughly. In this case, the PR session was to aid in your understanding and not to accelerate you through the book as quickly as possible.

However, you don't always need to actually read the whole book to activate what you need. If I'm reading a book on politics but only need to get some information out of it on, say, foreign policy, then I can just PR the book and use a quick super read and dip. In this case, you would not necessarily rapid read or anything else. In this case, the 80/20 rule is generally king. Hope this helps you.
