Hi:
Would photoreading help an actor to memorize his lines? I have a multipage sales script to memorize and thought that photoreading would help. Is there a special way to prepare & or preview so that that task could be accomplished or is the activate & rapid reading change? Would someone have to photoread a number of times.

Thank you very much for your deep insights

Yes, but it would be part of it, especially a good beginning still requiring more effort.

PhotoRead and mind map the important parts of the script. PhotoRead the book and review your mind map often. You will also need to activate more than once.

Alternatively read the scripts out loud 10 times.

Also, something else that will help is after you PR, close your eyes and imagine a situation where you are reciting the lines. For an actor, you could imagine yourself on stage or where ever you would be and imagine seeing yourself being great and getting every line correct without struggle. They key thing here is to see yourself being successful in the recitation of the script you just PhotoRead. The brain really can't distinguish between fact and fantasy. So run through it in your head over and over. And put as much emotion into it as you can. See the set vividly. Smell what you would smell. Fell the clothing you would be wearing. Hear the audience and/or other actors. Maybe to make it more real imagine somebody in the audience sneezing every once in a while. Anything that'll make the visualization more real for you. You'll be amazed at what this visualization can do for you. Hope this helps some.
