I have been healing some menstrual issues for awhile now and using qigong to support that. The cramps are quite strong the first few days and long times of standing are very uncomfortable. (Will be getting Level 2 shortly.)
I have been practicing for a few months now and found that sitting cross-legged on a wool blanket while doing the Active Exercises really eases the pressure, allows me to focus on the rest of my body and that I don't get dizzy. Also, I do not practice the 7 Steps of New Life during my period. I usually wait until about the 3rd or 4th day after I start to begin that series again.
Just wanted to share my experience. I am also really looking forward to the phone in healing sessions.
