Dear All,
I just read the book on PR. I tried it yesterday for the first time with a 15 pages article. but It did not seem to work for me!! frown
How can I use this technique properly? I wish I could use it, because I am preparing for pharmacy exams which contains 5 6 textbooks.
Help me please

Dear all,
I have a lot of reading in front of me for taking the pharmacy examinations in canada. Could you help me to understand and use the photoreading system?
I tried it once. It did not work. it took a lot of time for me to create a mind map from only one chapter. how do you activate what you read? when Superreading and dipping it seems that I miss too many details. When I want to rapid read it takes a lot of time. By skittering It doesnot seem that I get anything other than the first sentence of each paragraph. as I said mind mapping takes really a hard time. whenever I want to speed up, I miss many things in the text.
Please help me
Thanks

Do the 5 day test from the PhotoReading book.

Do not learn PhotoReading using your textbooks and course work material. Learn the system first on books that are interesting to you and do not require passing an exam. Once you know how to use the system on material that interest you applying it to your study material is easier.

If it didn't work the first time do it again. Develop your PhotoReading muscle. You can't run a marathon just because you bought running gear. You need to build up the skill that's why you start on books not relating to studies.

Hi Dreamer,
Some thoughts for you. There is photoreading the material to know and own it, and there is exam taking strategies. If you haven't already, talk with a mentor or someone who has taken the exam before and get their insight into to how best study and what will "always" be on the exam. If you can get example questions or old exams that would be great. The relaxation and affirmation part of the photoreading is really really important. If you are anxious when studying it won't be as effective. Your purpose will guide you other than conscious mind to pull the material out that you need for the exam. Read the testimonials, daily if need be so that you know that you can do this. At least that helps me.
When is your exam?

Dr Lisa,
I am planning to take it in July or if I am not ready next year. the problem is I am a phd student as well and managing both pharmacy exams and phd courses and project will be really hard for me. that is why I really wish that PR work for me before it is too late.
I am not anxious about the exams. however how can I be confident that the answers will come to me in the exam or any similar situations without having a good conscious level of understanding?
Bests

It's only the first step, the photoreading, that takes place on a subconscious level. The activation steps are done with your conscious mind.

Hey this PR thing is making me so fantastically curious. I don't watch any television. In fact, I don't own one. My apartment is considered to be a library of books I love. Wall to wall books. I believe, during my precious time on this beautiful planet is to feed my mind, body, and spirit with wholesome information so that I am serving my highest good. I haven't received any of the PR materials as of yet. All I can express is ...PR is arriving at a perfect time in my life.
