On the Photoreading book Paul says that we should look at the center of the book (no matter if we are using the blip page or the imaginary 'X').

I read a lot of ebooks on my computer.
Instead of looking at the center of the computer(the ebook) is it OK if I look at the notebook camera on the top of the notebook while photoreading?

You still look "through the book, computer etc. It's how you change your focus. Yes you could use a point at the top edge of the computer to help you with photofocus. Much like looking over the top edge of the book or under the book while you're a beginner. Ultimately you will look through the book no matter what the text is displayed on.
