Tell her to think of the ocean waves as noisy traffic outside the office. Wind rustling through trees (yep it's strong wind but sounds similar) An arcade game in the background.

She can also imagine it's the sound of her blood circulating since you get the same effect by holding a cup near your ear.

Maybe she can use the Anxiety Free CD to deal with her water fear first...?

Good point lb... if the Anxiety Free paraliminal has ocean waves (I can't remember-probably does), then that's not very good for her...

I second working past the anxiety issue first as well. Many people are fat simply because of the culture we live in. It promotes unhealthy food as a time saver and lack of exercise as a labor saver. However, many people are fat due to anxiety issues that may not have anything to do with food.

As fat is less dense then other tissues, the weight issue may be related to the hydrophobia. Fat people are less likely to drown due to lower density, and less likely to freeze to death in cold water due to insulation. Until she believes that the ocean can't harm her, letting go of the excess body fat may be an issue.

No, I'm not being facetious. Go to any Overeating Anonymous meeting and you're as unlikely to hear "I overeat because food tastes good" as you are to see someone drinking a non-diet cola there.

Just wanted to add one thing. During Anxiety Free, one of the visualizations is a TV set turning itself on. If you've seen "The Ring" as many times as I have, that in and of itself is anxiety producing. Doesn't mean I don't use the tape, I just visualize Samara coming out of the TV and sort of ignoring me.

Japanese ghosts are scary.

I would instead suggest using Paul McKennas "Slim now" or "easy weight loss" and "I can make you thin".. He is an expert on some of these areas... He the worlds most famous hypnotherapist.

He knows what to do...
And have not experienced that any of his products contains oceanwave sounds.
