I hope its ok to discuss relevant work from outside LSC.

Has anyone read The 11th Element by Bob Scheinfeld? I just read the book and I think it would be of interest to people on this forum.

Please lets have your views.

Mark.

I read all the material on his website. It sounded like the AFL material with the idea of everyone being connected on an energetic level, added on the side.

I didn't see any new ideas in the material, for myself, so I didn't pursue it.

If I missed something. I'd gladly listen.

No, but I have read the Fifth Elephant by Terry Pratchett, and it's pretty damn funny.

EXCELLENT!
Believe it or not I was looking for a sign that involved Elephants.

You provided that sign!!!, but you will have to read The 11th element to understand why

I will of course read "the Fifth Elephant". I can't risk not reading it.

Mark-11, you get back to us with what you find in the Pratchett novel; besides the chuckles that is.

Oh, I read my son a story about an elephant tonight.

But you're not going to sharing any information about the 11th element, besides what's on the website?

Hurm, strange signs and portents.

Last night I was eating dinner and overheard a conversation at the table next to me. It was a gentleman, a lady, and the lady's teenage boy. It did not appear to me, through non-verbal info, that that this man was husband to the woman or father to the child.

Anyway, I overheard the man describing what sounded like transcendental meditation. The woman said something about it sounding like eastern meditation to which the man replied, "Oh no, it's nothing like that. Eastern meditation is demonic like most things that come out of the east. I mean, those people worship monkeys, elephants, and snakes."

Worship monkeys, elephants, and snakes. Yep. Man, the ignorance. I was tempted to say something, but, really, it was none of my business, and it was rude of me to be listening anyway.

But, really, I was tempted to say, "Do you ever kneel before a cross? Well, if the cross is made of wood, don't you think it would be both stupid and ignorant of me to say, 'Sigh, there goes another misguided wood worshipper'? Think about it, along with snakes, monkeys, and elephants, and you might gain a better understanding of foreign cultures, if you're interested in actually understanding."

Anyway, elephants!
