Hi all,

Here is something I noticed about my vision: When I'm trying to decide something, thinking about something, concentrating, etc. I look to my right and my eyes look nearer than the nearest object in sight. Now this may seem OK, but I noticed it is not. There's a huge difference in the feeling when I look near and when I look far (through the wall)! Looking near I feel tight and sort of anxious, but looking far I feel calm and everything is under my control. I feel this observation means a whole lot to me. In fact I would never have noticed it, if my mind did not want me to notice it. I had no intention to find such thing, my mind brought it to my attention.

I'm so excited about this, so I had to tell it someone... ;-) -purjo

Excellent observation. Others can experiment with this so see their reaction.

Thanks Alex!

This observation is certainly leading to something important to me.

It's the elusive obvious that we hardly ever notice.

If it's appropriate, let us know what it leads to when you get there.

Hey Purjo, it occured to me that you might like to read "an insiders guide to submodalities" by Richard Bandler and Will MAcdonald, 1988. Some other old stuff that comes to mind is Tad James timeline work...

You have discovered some valuable information about yourself...it could be realy useful!

I think it's a Timeline thing. I usually look to the left. For most people, their Timeline goes from left to right because that's the way we read. So, while I'm scanning my past to see if something similar worked, you're scanning your future to see what the results could be.

Just a hypothesis.

Hi baba, v-man and kaiden,

Thank you for the responses!

First, I'm well acquainted with the work of Bandler, James and other developers of NLP. Otherwise I would not have been able to make such an observation and see the value of it.

Second, definitely yes, it is connected to my understanding of my future. I've had problems having a bright etc. future. (I've discussed about this with Alex in length. She's coaching me for this purpose.)

And last but not least, I can now answer (at least partly) to which things this observation is leading to... (I was hesitating to annswer anything, because at fisrt it led to some unprintable experiences!) -It's leading to other observations, equally important as the previous one! I've had problems in motivating myself to do my job. To make a long story short, just 30 min ago I noticed that I looked at an internal image when trying to motivate myself. And that image made me feel bad (=not motivated), even before I had had a look at the image of the task I'm doing at work. So, when my mind did look at the image of the current task I ALREADY felt bad!!! => No motivation => do sopmething else => play solitaire... <sigh>. BUT NOW it's going to be different! I know there may still be some other loops in my motivation strategy, but at least one loop is going to change. And I know I'm on the right path. again.

Needless to say I feel fantastic! -purjo

Wonderful, Purjo!
I am glad you are getting to the meaning of this, and gaining the knowledge to improve yourself.

Now, I wonder if you have uncoverred a clue for me and my motivation? (mix of envy and hope)

I am glad you're making progress with submodalities. I could never really get into them ... and anyone who tells me I should try stepping into the picture is going to get hit with a stick.

;P
