In IE use the ALt and left arrow to move back and use the TAB key (or SHIFT & TAB to go back one link) to tab through links.
This saves using the mouse.
By going back to a content list after reading each page and hitting TAB and RETURN the next 'chapter' or page flicks into the browser.
I've found that by using this combination of keys and a bit of practice you can really speed through a whole site without constantly having to move the mouse around.
