I was just wondering, but if you weren't registered in a Science faculty, with Photoreading could you access the materials needed for the MCAT. Is is possible to study for the MCAT and appy, even if you are not in a Science field. Let's say you just studied in your sparetime and what not- from books and notes, and some help from teachers, friends or tutors.
Is this feasible?
Realistically speaking
thanks.
Razor?
Dana?
Paul?
Pete?
Anyone?

I think it would be feasible, though much more difficult than it sounds.

Someone on this forum used PRing for his MCAT, along with school, and didn't pass.

Is it possible? Yeah.
Is it easy? Nope.
Would PRing make it easier than regular reading all the stuff you'd have to read to pass the MCAT? Yeah.

Are you going to take the April or the August MCAT?

PRing would probably work best working with the science review materials for the MCAT. Either a prep manual or taking a review course with organization like Princeton, Kaplan, Berkeley review etc.

Of course it will work with the actual science classes too, but that is assuming you have already taken them. But you still have to practice the problems. The MCAT is very time intensive.

THanks for the responses guys.

I was thinking of taking it in August. If I studied for a year on my own, I would prefer to take it next summer.
So far I have taken only the first year university bio and math. I need biochem organic chem, and physics.
I just thought I could do those courses independently, and still be in a faculty like English. ( Am i crazy?)lol

You are not crazy. Some med schools have a preference for liberal arts majors. But all the schools expect high performance in the sciences too.

It is a very demanding test. They say you just want to take it once. Good luck to you.
