If your purpose is discussion or cultural literacy, preview for characters and places, PhotoRead, and do manual activation. If your purpose is "good clean fun," many PhotoReaders perfer PhotoReading and then RapidReading. If you've gotten good at noticing the signels of spontaneous activation, one fun method is to PhotoRead the book and then watch the movie. Your signals can tell you where the book and movie diverge.
