As long as you have a hangup in this arena, it will hinder your progress in both religions. Does not the term double minded come to mind?

What? Ehhh... This is interesting to talk about. When people pray or talk to their God certain parts of the brain is triggered. I wanna see a split picture comparison of that to PR proccess. I'm sure some parts will hit the same due to relaxation and using subconcious mind, but I doubt that PR will hinder your religion. What is New Age Religion anyways or this Double minded thing?

The mind is something we, as humans, are given to surpass the animal ways. We still haven't mastered our minds even with a skill like PR. I think it's correct in the way that if you are created with a given gift you explore it. Thus given a Brain and a Body, now with PR and more new ways, you are pressed with more responsibility. To me, it would be a sin if I did not use my mind to the fullest. With that, sin is a common occurance that I try to surpress.

Just a thought...Why do the Samuari keep their hair long? Alertness? Does hair have to do with the brain at in any way?

Doublemindedness is a term used in James 1:8 and 4:8, also Psalms 119:113. Many Christians escribe this as embracing other philosophies(spiritual adultery) instead of vasillation from the faith in God's power to bestow wisdom, deliverance, etc. I know a lot of Christians use passages like this as an excuse to remain ignorant and lazy. Many of this type of Christian's don't know much about the Bible they profess to love, either, choosing to be spoon-fed by pastors and other auth. figures.

Well, if you want to be a New Age Christian, Thipdar, I don't see what's stopping you. There seem to be new branches and scisms every month, so there's no reason why you cannot follow your own syncretism.

As a PhotoReader, you might want to check out some books on the phenomonology of religious experience (e.g., something by Mircea Eliade), or on the neurobiology of religion (e.g. "Why God Won't Go Away").

If you're doing any serious syncretism, you might want to get VERY basic and just start defining your terms. Syntopic reading can help in being an autodydatic spiritualist. I find that once I've defined my terms, and taken a very clear stance on one facet of religion, the other facets come into a certain clarity. For example, when I decided that my epistomology would be Vamacara Tantric and my cosmogony would be Kaballistic, then it was only too clear that my ontology had to be Platonic.

Never fall into the trap of thinking yourself infailable.
