Haven't heard from you lately. How are things going with your mom?

Hey guys,

Still lurking around.

My mom's spirits are high. Her operation is on Monday; they've decided to remove the breast and reconstruct in one fell swoop. I've heard this is fairly uncommon, but for her case it was a good thing.

Thanks for all the positive comments, and I'll be sure to keep you all updated on her status. I've been told she'll have a longer recovery period than normal after the operation (since they are reconstructing in the same operation), so it may be awhile, but I'll let you all know what happens.

Thanks again.

-Ramon

Just an update:

The surgery went very well and she's recovering fairly smoothly.

One of the benefits is that the reconstructed breast is composed of tissue by her abdomen. What this means is that in the breast reconstruction process, my mom also got a free tummy tuck =)

Thanks again for all the support. You guys are awesome.

Will keep updating everyone.

-Ramon
