The only person you need to improve upon is yourself. Aim for your own best.

Whatever amount of time it takes you to read a book now, expect to be able to read a similar book in 1/3 the time it takes you now, when you finished the course. From there you allow yourself to get faster and better at getting the information you seek out of a book. That's what is really important, getting the information you want out of the book in the time you have available.

It doesn't matter what I say... I'm not here, I don't exist. It's you that matters because you see this message, you see what I type, I much rather see this message but have no idea how you see it. Same or different, it doesn't matter. There is no spoon. =)

Photoreading is different from speed reading in that you really never calculate or care about your wpm score. With speed reading, if you read at 5000 wpm it will take you the same ammount of time to read any two texts with the same number of words. With photoreading, you super read all over the book until you get everything you want out of it. You may not even read most of the actual text so it would be innacturate to calculate words per minute.

total time spent with a book varies based on purpose, difficulty, interest and probably other things too
