Could someone give me an example of what they write on the branches for each book on the same topic? I want to make sure that I understand how to do this. Thanks, Toby

The mind map in the book is pretty clear about that.

A passage that relates to the purpose. Item 5 on page 113 explains it. It has to be your purpose so any examples we give are redundant even as examples because we have to explain our purpose. Even the authors purpose doesn't count. To show you our purpose we'd have to draw a syntopic mind map for you so that the passages we selected from the book would make some sense.

So a passage from a book
State the facts and information... pg95

...author's steps for solving the problem...pg63

2 passages relevant to my purpose from one of the books.

Alex

Okay, Alex, now I get it. I guess the rule is to keep it simple. I have a tendency to want to include everything. It's a hard habit to break, but I', working on it. Thanks!! Toby
