Who says that PhotoReading can only be done in a quiet environment. I've done it often enough with the TV going. Intending to use commercial breaks for activation time Only to finish a book and watch the program at the same time. I lose interest in the program if there are too many commericals
I agree that TV can become very distacting and moving into another room can be a bit antisocial so why not get yourself a CD player and some music, (baroque, new age, learning music) non of these have vocals and are often quite boring to listen to so you mind move onto whatever you want to give attention to. An advantage of using music in this way... keeps track of activation passes.
Also remember the tangerine technique. Once you've used the tangerine technique and CD player for a couple of weeks you'll find that habit takes care of the distraction and you won't necessarily need the music anymore.
