Nope, non-fiction. You'll be surprised what you can learn from a textbook in 20-minutes. The longer you talk the more information can come up.

Are they finished with the book in 20-minutes? Most of the time probably not. The point is even as beginners it's not necessary for them to spend 8-12 hours with a non-fiction book and get detailed informaion from it. A couple more activations and they can be done with the book in 1.5 hours and have even better comprehension of the information in the book than they usually have with traditional reading.

For a light textbook, it would be easy. But what if the material is very difficult and requires slow reading to thoroughly understand it?

If the textbook requires 75 hours of tradtional reading to comprehend. Using PhotoReading it's possible to finish the book in 12 to 25 hours for the same or better comprehension. Long term memory is much better than what one get with traditional reading because PhotoReading places the infromation into the long term memory first.

Another question that I've concerning reading is sustaining interest in a very dry subject. I get bored very easily with books which fail to arouse my interest. Can Photoreading address this?

PR is quite good for 'dry' books because you are making an active effort to engage and construct the meaning for yourself. Often its the presentation of a topic that's dull, not the topic itself. PR bypasses this.

Establishing a purpose helps you to discover your motivation for reading books that are assigned but have little personal interest for you.

Nick, I'm very glad to hear that!

Frankly, I've actually dozed off while reading an excruciatingly dull textbook. I guess I suppose it's due to our interactive multimedia internet age. That's why a large number of students don't like reading textbooks due to their mundane nature. I believe publishers should spice up their textbooks, some have already done this by supplementing them with a CD-ROM study aid. However, it's far from satisfactory in doing its job in getting students interested and educating them.

Yes, it's very important to establish a purpose. Having a worthwile goal can be very motivating.

I'm curious to know how long will the comprehension last after a Photoreading session? What must be done afterwards to ensure long term recall?
