Photoreading without a purpose is like getting in a car and just driving, without any idea where you want to go.
Yes you can drive a car without a purpose and you will get a nice pleasant ride. You may enjot the ride immensely.
However, if you want to accomplish certain objectives, you must have a purpose. It is good to attach an outcome to your purpose statement. This makes it more active and precise. Consider what goal you will accomplish by acquiring the knowledge in the magazine article, publication, or books. How will that knowledge benefit you?! Your OTC mind will automatically find that point where your motivation is fueled the most for achieving your PURPOSE. It is just fantastic how it works!
If you even read a short 12 page article on something simple like the comparitive cost of HMOs (health maintenance organizations) versus PPO (paid provider options), even then, to get the most out of it, you must have a purpose why you are reading the article ( e.g. your purpose may be----- to answer your questions about what is most economical for your situation, to compare costs, to compare benefits, which is best for your specific health conditions, etc.. .
Or like caesar-gus stated there is nothing wrong with PRing just to pass the time and get practice with photofocus and the OTC thinking process.
