Well, I had never heard of 'chi' before and this guy was dressed in tights and... well, I was like... 'yeaaahhh, okay.'

You're a funny man, Brian. Definately a funny man.

I try, I try and I try, but I can't seem to get past this tingling discomfort.

Should I work on building up the length of my exercises slowing over a few weeks or just break through, and go for a whole hour or more?

I really want this to work for me. Please help!

Are you doing all of the excercises at a slow pace? This may not be the best thing. Not all of the movements are meant to be slow, not all the time anyway. When first learning things like Chi Kung(Qigong) and Tai Chi, they are taught slowly to learn the patterns and forms.

What's more important is that you find a speed that you're comfortable with. You want to go slow enough to feel what you need to, and, at times, fast enough that you don't tire out your arm or leg because you've been holding it up for so long.

If your discomfort is caused by the Chi, that's one thing. If it's cause by muscular stress that's something else, and you don't want that at all.

I'm pretty sure it's the Chi. I stand enough throughout the day and this never happens, but within a minute of starting Qigong, I can feel it beginning.
