When I first heard the news about today's terrorist attack on the U.S., an image of the world trade center came to my minds eye. As the towers were hit and collapsing, I saw a wave of fear and anger spread out from the event. I felt this event, as I am sure many people did, hit me in the solar plexus/gut. We are all connected. It is important to respond to this in a healing way. It is possible to do healings in your meditations that address this catastrophic event. Picture the body or collective of the country, where the damage is done, and address it as a healer would. Be aware of the fear and anger that can arise from this. It seems to me one could also track the source and also do some healing work. If this message speaks to you, please take some time in your meditations to address this trauma as it unfolds.

We all need to live the love, kindness, and forgiveness that Chunyi (and oh so many others) talk about.

Practice Qigong. Build your own energy. As your energy strengthens it flows to those around you.

One by one we can have a powerful effect on the world.

Remember the love, kindness, and forgiveness.

In light of our new, changed world...

Over the past year we have had considerable
discussion at Learning Strategies about the
value of Reflection and Resiliency.

Reflection helps put everything in
perspective, calms the body, mind, and soul,
and de-hecticizes our lives. Those who
practice disciplines such as Spring Forest
Qigong, or follow the sessions of Euphoria,
listen to the Personal Celebration series
(especially the BEING program), meditate, or
pray know of which I speak.

Resiliency is the ability to bounce back in
the face of a set back, road block, tragedy,
and the like. Some people are naturally
resilient. Some are not. My best friends are
resilient--I guess that is something that
attracts me to people. But, I also have a
friend who is not resilient, and she is having
a very difficult time with the events.

In July and August Paul and I decided to move
forward developing and publishing programs on
a Relections with Bernie Saunders and
Resiliency with Al Seibert. Both are
recognized experts with fascinating stories
that led them down their paths.

In our hearts we knew these program woulds be
of immense personal value to those who explore
them. We also knew it would not be as popular
as PhotoReading or Spring Forest Qigong simply
because it is easier to do, do, do things and
put off taking care of ourselves.

Unfortunately, unspeakable horror befell the
world. Fortunately, it has caused us all to
stop in our tracks. I've heard from many
people who said that for the first time in
their lives they smell the roses.

I wish I could say we have Reflections and
Resiliency for you, but we don't. It takes a
long time to develop these programs. One
customer asked me last month why it has taken
so long to get Memory Optimizer out. One
reason is reflection. It is an essential part
of our creation process. Paul and I do it
naturally, and with Bernie we hope to teach
people how to bring it into their lives.

People have been asking for advice this week.
We've been suggesting time with BEING. Or,
practice Qigong or other similar practices.
Or, PhotoRead inspirational and uplifting
books.

I was to fly to Los Angeles last night. Had
the conference not been canceled, I would have
listened to Anxiety-Free Thursday night, just
to help clean things up so that I wouldn't be
anxious. I didn't think I would be, but I
wanted to do a little preventative. Keep that
tape in mind for you and your loved ones.

Other programs that could be valuable are New
Option Generator and New History Generator.

While the attack was against America, we know
people around the world are deeply affected
and profoundly care. We've received dozens of
emails from customers everywhere expressing
their shock, condolences, sorrow, and love.

Tuesday night I was awaken by the noise of
fighter planes flying cover over Minneapolis.
It was oddly comforting. I slept well.

So, I wish you comfort in the days, months,
and years to come. I know my friends and
associates and Learning Strategies share this
wish for you. Be well.

Hi, Pete
While Qi Gong or memory tapes can be useful, if you are threatened by a gunman, you have to deal with the threat, or ultimately you feel inefficacious, no matter how many tapes you use!
I suggest that we all think about the joys of folks spreading deadly bacteria in our lakes or having suitcase nuclear bombs.
Then I suggest that we focus on the one thing that would jar the crazy pseudo-Moslems into abandoing their course of action:threaten to nuke MECCA! It is the most sacred source of the Moslem religion. God knows we have the power to do so.
The purpose isn't to actually do so, but rather to restrain even the most rabid of "Moslems" from acting upon their terrorist leanings.
What do you think of this heretical notion?

best wishes,
Mike

Pete,
Thanks for your positive and constructive posts. There is possibility for collective transformation in these challenging times. People like yourself, and the organization you represent help make transformation possible by providing tools to accomplish that.

I have had some experience with reflection. I came by it through working with an Inuit teacher. The process came up through the making of a medicine wheel, which involved interaction with the directions. The directions are similar to the concept of the "master's energy" in qigong work. Reflection was done in the West. Reflection was the ability to see one's self. This was one part of the equation. Once that state of awareness is experienced, it is followed by release work and bringing in positive energy. With the assistance of the teacher and the collective of spirits in the West, I was able to see my whole life pass before my eyes, going from significant negative experience to negative experience in sequence. These were usually emotional in nature. They simultaneously released, faster and faster, almost like popcorn as the reflection played out. I remembered things I had forgotten. I felt permanently lighter after the initial experience. Without this particular ritual, reflection and release work were done when needed by going in the West, essentially meditating to see oneself, seeing the negative emotional problem, releasing it, and replacing it with positive energy. The ability to release the negative energy was connected to one's understanding of this energy, in the sense that you could see positive side to the event or problem, and why you didn't have to experience it in the negative sense. (I am finding it hard to communicate this process!) I think of increased wisdom if I equate this process to qigong work. Anyway, reflection is a way to see oneself, see and release negative emotions from the day, from the past, cellular memory can be addressed, etc. It is a transformational process. I think it is an important area to develop in dealing with emotions and healing. Best of luck with your new work and future offerings. Thanks again for your positive contribution to this forum at a difficult time.

Hi, Galen
The thing is WE are not the problem. Transforming ourselves is not going to prevent crazed terrorists from doing a harakiri over the White House.
We need to deal with those people out there who are not us, not in our dreams, not in our fantasies, who are not connected in any way to our bodily energy fields.
Which means:retaining the mental and emotional flexibility to say Goodbye to kinesthetic exercises and Hello to the cognitive parts of our brains and our moral indignation.

best wishes,
Mike

The world needs healing on every level.

And, the world needs to deal with terrorists.

To deny either is folly.

I am in total agreement that the terrorists need to be dealt with. One of the challenges our leaders face, is trying to do that with minimum threat to more innocent people's lives. Alot of previously unconnected nations, are currently connected in a common cause. It would be preferrable to keep that intact going forward. It is also preferrable not to create new enemies out of this. It is very unfortunate that many U.S. citizens are being harassed by other Americans , similar to the Japanese during WWII. The best way I can deal with all of this, is to take care of myself and my family, and take part in the positive way Americans have unified, and nations are joining against terrorism. Mike, this event is not going to change the fact that you have to take care of yourself. Don't throw away your tapes yet! They were never presented as antiterrorist devices. You can be a healthy individual, anD be against terrorism.

Hi, Galen
I agree with you that one of the challenges out of this whole mess will be to retain our individualistic ethos, and not to accuse folks with Arab-sounding names of *anything* just because some Moslems went nuts. We are all individuals, so we must be treated individually.
I don't intend to throw away my tapes I like them. They reduce stress and may help me avoid potential cancerous recurrence.

best always,
Mike
