Here is a bean dip recipe I was reminded of, while I was at the level III retreat. While there Master Lin was talking about some foods that are good and foods that are less good. If the tomatoes in this recipe were cooked, and the are NOT, then I think everything in the dip is on the good list.

Now, I eat this with corn chips which wasn't on either list, but I suspect it's on the less good list.

Carol's Bean Nacho Dip

1 can (19 fl oz) black beans
1 can (19 fl oz) corn niblets
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1/4 cup chopped red onions
1 tomato (deseeded, pat dry, chop)
2 tablespoons olive oil
6 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 cup chopped cilantro (fresh)
1 1/2 teaspoons cumin (powder)

I may look a little off putting to some, but I've failed to hear of anyone that didn't love it, once they'd tasted it.

This is just something that has been sticking in my head for almost a year now. So that one less thought to drift by during meditations.

Thanks Iam2 - this looks good - I'm going to give it a try. Is there a list somewhere in the SFQ course materials that lists the "good" foods? I was surprised that cooked tomatoes are better than raw.

Well, we can't have to many recipes that are good for us. Thanks for putting it out there.

Yeah, the cooked tomatoes is something that's out in the science literature a few years ago.

As for the food, there is nothing in the level I and II material. I don't remember it being in the level III manual, but I've only been through it once.

Where's that "shaking of the head and rolling of the eyes emoticon when you need it?

Maybe when I wipe the grin off my face, I'll respond to this one.

Much Love to all, Shawn
