Has anyone PRed part or all of the Bible? What is the process like for you? Are you able to recall scripture, verse, and the actual text? Or, is it more of a general thing (in other words, you understand the concept of the passage, more or less)?

I have PhotoRead and done a short little activation on the book of Genesis, and have PhotoRead all the rest of the Bible.

Most of the time, when asking questions, or being asked questions about the stories, and verses, the answers come in images.

Actual text? Usually if you just let go and have the words fly out of your mouth, you might be surprised by the results you get;how accurate it is to the texts.

Anyone else had experience photoreading the Bible? I'm thinking about it, but not sure how I should break it down. Also, any recommendations on certain versions. I think the super thin paper, tiny print, and dual columns could be a problem.

Your feedback is appreciated.

Size of text and duel columns won't be a problem since the text is still legible and the entire book is usually the dimensions of a regular book. You might have to find a knack for the page turning, just keep a steady rhythm.

Have you thought of photoreading the bible and then allowing yourself to be drawn to the parts to activate?

You might do a search for "Bible" there are some threads on the PR forum about it.

Don't THNK about PRing something, just DO it. Granted the Bible is a long book, but you could try PRing a couple books in it by putting paperclips on the starting and stopping pages. Shoot first, ask questions later.

astrowill--great post, very encouraging, how's your PR'ing journey coming?

You might want to PR the Bible on your PC, in ebook, or whatever, its about 5 times faster.

It is a challenge, yet it will give great benefits too. I photoread a NIV study Bible in one sitting just a few weeks ago. I had some difficulty with page turning as it is a very thin velum type paper. I stopped and put one of those rubber finger tips thingies on my index finger and it alot better. You have to buy a box at a time from Office depot or somewhere. After the actual photoread step I realized my vision had obscured and become blurry. It took maybe twenty minutes to normalize. Once I had completed the first three steps with a postview, (I only read the bold sub-headings and probably took longer than most books)I took a nap and had some entertaining dreams. Once awake I was drawn to read Jeremiah. Since then I have not formerly initiated any activation process. I think next I will photoread a CEV version maybe. The only other real effect is that certain scripture that I had memorized years ago and had forgotten seems to be available to me at my will now. Anyways, have fun and enjoy.

With a document as suspect as the Bible, at least in my opinion, I recommend researching it a bit, maybe finding a few different translations/editions. Also, researching some scholarly biblical history will benefit your understanding of the contents of the Bible. Also, I am partial to Nietzsche's oft-misunderstood thoughts about christianity and the life of Jesus, I recommend picking up a Walter Kaufmann translation of The Anti-Christ.
