Hi!
I'm an italian girl and I'm new in PRing!I want to try this method but I can't get a course 'cause of my father...he says this sounds like a brainwashing. So I brought the book.
And my first question is:how can I enter in the alpha state? any suggestions?

Close your eyes.

if you wanna go to alpha state
just RELAX ( very very relaxing ) nothing bad comes in your mind and you have VERY DEEP AND SLOW BREATH
like when you about to sleep

you can listen to classic music to help you ( i usualy use it )

just go to your bed ,close your eyes and say to yourself relax relax 10 times with deep and slow breath ( and all your muscles are relaxed )
you will get alpha state

I got the book The Whole Mind System which is really good. It helped me to understand how to PR, others would probably recommend it also. good luck.

Your dad does have a point, which has been raised here a few times. I've tried to argue against it, but eventually I had to concede it. When you PhotoRead a book, it is percieved at an other-than-conscious level, so the emotions hit rather hard and the truth-detection mechanisms don't aways come into play.

My advice is to syntopically read ANYTHING that is remotely contriversial to you. For example, if you believe that all toast is evil, reading any pro-toast books on their own may have a "brainwashing" effect. If you're going to read books on toast, make sure you balance it with some anti-toast books in order to help you stay true to yourself. Also, if you get very mad while PhotoReading a pro-toast book or just after PhotoReading it, ACKNOWLEDGE that feeling as genuine and valid. Don't suppress your feeling as being prejudiced or wrong. If you change your mind after activating the pro-toast material, that's all right...

I remember when I first started playing with PR I use to get so hung up on the mechanics of PR'ing.

Am I relaxed enough, am I flipping the pages, did I just loose state, is this working, ah dang ... just flipped serveral pages, hey, I just lost the blip ... oh dang!

Then it eventually dawned on me to just relax and go with the flow. You're equipped with a brain that can sense when the body/mind is in sync. You hear it from teachers all the time ... PAY ATTENTION.

Just a few things to remember ... when you tilt your head, gently smile, breath and chant the Relax, Relax, 4 3 2 1, ... the mind/body know what to do!

So tnx for the suggestions...I really think I will have a loooot of questions to do in future times.
My real problem is that I don't think I'm enought intelligent,smart to learn this method by my self...but I'll TRY!!!

There is not such thing as TRY. This is why Nike's saying is "Just DO it" ... hmmm, maybe their sales would increase if they changed it to "Just TRY it".

You have all the necessary talent and skills in you to do PR'ing ... your belief is like the on/off switch. Take great care on what you think.
